The 2023 Lumina felt like a new arrival of the event, as the festival was organized for the first time after the years of break caused by the corona pandemic. In addition, the festival was held in a wonderful new location, Tuulensuu Palace. The darkness and coldness of January were left outside the Palatsi doors, when Lumina's diverse range of performers entertained, touched and made the winter festival crowd laugh and dance.
The music program of the event featured Isaac Sene, Malla, Vilma Turku, Elliott Webb, Eetu Riikonen and DJ Coco Ninja. The performing arts repertoire included a ballroom collective Fem Queens of Finland, stand-up comedian Jamie MacDonald, aerial acrobat Vilma Turku, dancer Patrik Riipinen and improvisational theater group OKTEN.
As it is characteristic to Lumina, the event consisted of bigger names familiar to many, as well as up-and-coming artists who were found through an open call. The warm atmosphere remained throughout the evening and the Palace's own kitchen gave energy to the visitors with its delicious dishes.
